عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ كانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فِي الأُولَى مِنْهُمَا: قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللهِ ومَا أُنْزِلَ إِليْنَا الآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي (الْبَقْرَةِ)، وفي الآخِرَةِ مِنْهُمَا: آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ. وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: في الآخِرَةِ الَّتِي في (آلِ عِمْرَانَ): تَعَالَوْا إِلى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنا رَوَاهُمَا مُسْلِمٌ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the two rak'ahs of Fajr — in the first of them: "Say: We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us," the verse that is in (al-Baqarah); and in the latter of them: "We believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims." In another narration: in the latter, the verse in (Al Imran): "Come to a word common between us and you." Muslim reported both.

الآية التي في سورة البقرة: رقمها: ١٣٦ وفي الآخرة منهما ﴿آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ﴾: الآية في سورة آل عمران: رقمها: ٥٢. التي في (آل عمران) ﴿تَعَالَوْا إِلى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنا﴾: رقمها: ٦٤.
The verse in Surah al-Baqarah: its number is 136. "And in the latter of them, 'We believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims'": the verse is in Surah Al Imran; its number is 52. The one in (Al Imran), "Come to a word common between us and you": its number is 64.

استحباب القراءة في ركعتي سنّة الصبح بالآيتين من سورة البقرة وآل عمران مع الفاتحة، وهي إحدى الصيغ الواردة في السنة. في هذه الآيات التي تُقرأ تأكيد لوحدة الأنبياء في توحيد اللّهِ ومباينة طريقتهم لمن انتسب إليهم ممن حرَّف دين اللّهِ.
It is recommended to recite, in the two sunnah rak'ahs of the dawn prayer, the two verses from Surah al-Baqarah and Al Imran together with al-Fatihah; this is one of the forms reported in the Sunnah. In these recited verses there is a confirmation of the unity of the prophets in the oneness of Allah (tawhid), and of how their path diverges from those who claimed affiliation with them yet distorted the religion of Allah.
