عنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سعْدٍ رضِي اللّه عنْهُ قَال: شَهِدْتُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم مجْلِسًا وَصفَ فِيهِ الْجَنَّةَ حتَّى انْتَهَى، ثُمَّ قَال في آخِرِ حدِيثِهِ: «فِيهَا ما لا عيْنٌ رأَتْ، ولا أُذُنٌ سمِعَتْ، ولا خَطَر عَلى قَلْبِ بشَرٍ، ثُمَّ قَرأَ تتجافى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ المضَاجِعِ إِلى قَوْلِهِ تَعالَى: فَلاَ تعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ ما أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْينٍ. رواهُ البخاري.
Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I witnessed a gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which he described Paradise until he reached [its end]. Then he said at the end of his speech: "Therein is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived." Then he recited: 'Their sides part from [their] beds' up to the words of Allah the Exalted: 'And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for the eyes.' [Surah al-Sajdah: 16-17] Reported by al-Bukhari.

يصف النَّبيُّ صلَّى اللّه عليه وسلَّم الجنّة، ويذكر ما أعدّه اللّه لأهل الإيمان في الآخرة من النعيم المقيم والثواب العظيم، فيخبر صلَّى اللّه عليه وسلّم عن الجنّة بما يشوّق النفوس إليها ويشحذ الهمم للعمل، وليشمر الطالبون لها.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) describes Paradise and mentions what Allah has prepared for the people of faith in the Hereafter of everlasting bliss and immense reward. He (peace and blessings be upon him) informs about Paradise with that which stirs longing for it in the souls and sharpens resolve for [righteous] action, so that those seeking it may strive earnestly for it.
