Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do you know who the bankrupt person is?" They said: "The bankrupt person among us is one who has neither money nor possessions." He said: "The truly bankrupt person from my nation is one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and zakat, but he also comes having insulted this one, slandered that one, consumed the wealth of this one, shed the blood of that one, and beaten this one. So this one is given from his good deeds, and that one is given from his good deeds. And if his good deeds are exhausted before his wrongs are settled, the sins of those he wronged will be taken and cast upon him, and then he will be cast into the Fire." Narrated by Muslim.
