عن ابنِ عمرَ رضي اللّه عنهما قال: قال رسولُ اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «لَنْ يَزَالَ الْمُؤمِنُ فِي فُسْحَةٍ مِنْ دِينِهِ مَا لَمْ يُصِبْ دَمًا حَرامًا» رواه البخاري.
Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A believer will continue to have latitude in his religion so long as he does not shed blood unlawfully." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
الشرح · explanation
فسحة: سعة ورجاء رحمة من اللّه تعالى. يصِب دمًا: أي يباشر القتل. دمًا حرامًا: قتلًا بغير حقّ.
Latitude (fushshah): ample room and hope for Allah's mercy. Sheds blood (yusib daman): meaning he commits murder. Blood unlawfully (daman haraman): unlawful killing.
