عن أَبي هريرة رضي اللّه عنهُ، عن النبيِّ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «من نَفَّس عن مؤمن كُرْبةً منْ كُرب الدُّنْيا، نفَّسَ اللّه عنْه كُرْبةً منْ كُرَبِ يومِ الْقِيامَةِ، ومنْ يسَّرَ على مُعْسرٍ يسَّرَ اللّهُ عليْه في الدُّنْيَا والآخِرةِ، ومَنْ سَتَرَ مُسْلِمًا سَترهُ اللّهُ فِي الدنْيا والآخرة، واللّهُ فِي عوْنِ العبْدِ ما كانَ العبْدُ في عوْنِ أَخيهِ، ومَنْ سلكَ طَريقًا يلْتَمسُ فيهِ عِلْمًا سهَّلَ اللّهُ لهُ طريقًا إلى الجنَّة، وما اجْتَمَعَ قوْمٌ فِي بيْتٍ منْ بُيُوتِ اللّهِ تعالَى، يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللّهِ، ويَتَدارَسُونَهُ بيْنَهُمْ إلَّا نَزَلَتْ عليهمُ السَّكِينَةُ، وغَشِيَتْهُمُ الرَّحْمةُ، وحفَّتْهُمُ الملائكَةُ، وذكَرَهُمُ اللّهُ فيمَنْ عندَه، ومَنْ بَطَّأَ به عَملُهُ لَمْ يُسرعْ به نَسَبُه» رواه مسلم.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship from the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him of a hardship from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for one in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah is in the aid of a servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother. Whoever takes a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather in a house of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it together, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy envelops them, the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them to those near Him. And whoever is held back by his deeds will not be advanced by his lineage." Narrated by Muslim.

نفّس: فرَّج وأزال وخفّف. يسّر على معسر: أي سهّل على فقير بإبراءٍ أو هبةٍ أو إنظارٍ إذا كان عليه دين، لقول اللّه تعالى: {وَإِنْ كَانَ ذُو عُسْرَةٍ فَنَظِرَةٌ إِلَى مَيْسَرَةٍ وَأَنْ تَصَدَّقُوا خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ} [سورة البقرة: ٢٨٠]. يلتمس: يطلب ويبحث. علمًا: العلم الشرعيّ بدين اللّه ويلحق به كل علم فيه نفع للمسلمين إذا قصد به إرضاء اللّه تعالى. السكينة: الطمأنينة، وهي الحالة التي يطمئن بها القلب. بطّأ: أخّره عن رتبة الكمال.
"Relieves" (naffasa): eases, removes, and lightens. "Makes things easy for one in difficulty" (yassara 'ala mu'sir): meaning he facilitates matters for a poor person through pardoning a debt, giving a gift, or granting an extension if he owes a debt, as Allah the Most High says: {And if the debtor is in difficulty, then grant him time until it is easy for him to repay. But if you remit it by way of charity, that is better for you, if you only knew} [al-Baqarah: 280]. "Seeking" (yaltamis): searches and looks for. "Knowledge" ('ilman): Islamic religious knowledge, and it extends to every field of knowledge beneficial to Muslims if intended for the sake of pleasing Allah the Most High. "Tranquility" (al-sakinah): inner peace and serenity; the state in which the heart finds rest. "Held back" (batta'a): delayed from the rank of perfection.
