Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The heaven has groaned, and it has every right to groan: there is not a space of four fingers in it but that there is an angel placing his forehead in prostration to Allah, Exalted is He. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, you would not take pleasure with women in your beds, and you would go out to the open paths crying out to Allah, Exalted is He." [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: A sound (hasan) hadith]

That the believer, to the extent that he knows of Allah's greatness and majesty, increases in fear of His punishment and likewise increases in hope for His reward, so he forsakes disobedience and increases in obedience. Among the qualities of the believer is fear and awe of Allah, Glorified is He, yet this does not bring him to despair of His mercy, Glorified and Exalted is He. Encouragement to seek the help of the mercy of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and His good pleasure. The angels never tire of worshipping Allah, out of awe and reverence for Him, Exalted is He.
