عن أبي هريرةَ رضيَ اللهُ عنه قال: قالَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ لَمْ تُذنِبُوا، لَذَهَبَ اللهُ بِكُمْ، وَلجَاءَ بِقومٍ يُذْنِبُونَ، فَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللهَ تعالى، فيَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ» رواه مسلم.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, if you did not sin, Allah would take you away and bring a people who sin, then seek Allah's forgiveness, and He would forgive them." Reported by Muslim.

بيان فضل الله تعالى على عباده بالعفو والمغفرة، فعلى المؤمن أن يبادر إلى الاستغفار ليغفر الله له. عدم اليأس والقنوط؛ بل على التائب أن يكون متفائلًا بالتوبة صادقًا فيها.
A clarification of Allah's bounty toward His servants through pardon and forgiveness; so the believer must hasten to seek forgiveness that Allah may forgive him. Not despairing or losing hope; rather, the one repenting should be optimistic about repentance and sincere in it.
