Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never saw refined bread from the time Allah the Exalted sent him until Allah the Exalted took him. It was said to him: "Did you have sieves in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never saw a sieve from the time Allah the Exalted sent him until Allah took him. It was said to him: "How did you eat the barley unsifted?" He said: We would grind it and blow on it, so what flew away flew away, and what remained we moistened. Recorded by al-Bukhari.
