عن أبي هُريرةَ رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسولُ الله صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «لأَنْ يحتَطِبَ أَحَدُكُم حُزمَةً على ظَهرِه، خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَسأَلَ أَحَدًا، فَيُعُطيَه أَو يمنَعَهُ» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That one of you should gather a bundle of firewood on his back is better for him than that he should beg from someone, who then either gives him or refuses him." Agreed upon.

حزمة: أي حزمة من حطب. على ظهره: أي يأتي بها على ظهره.
A bundle: that is, a bundle of firewood. On his back: that is, he brings it back on his back.
