عَن عائشة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قالتْ: كانَتْ يَدُ رسولِ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ اليُمْنى لِطُهُورِهِ وطَعَامِهِ، وكَانَتِ اليُسْرَى لِخَلائِهِ وَمَا كَانَ منْ أَذىً. حديثٌ صحيحٌ، رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ وَغَيْرُهُ بِإسْنَادٍ صَحِيحٍ.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The right hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was for his purification and his eating, and the left was for his relieving himself and for whatever was filth. A sahih (authentic) hadith, reported by Abu Dawud and others with a sound chain.
الشرح · explanation
لخلائه: أي لما فيه من استنجاء وتناول أحجار وإزالة أقذار. أذى: كالبصاق والمخاط ونحو ذلك.
For his relieving himself: that is, for what it involves of cleansing oneself, handling stones, and removing impurities. Filth: such as spittle, mucus, and the like.
