عَنِ النَّزَّالِ بنِ سبْرَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: أَتَى عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بابَ الرَّحْبَةِ فَشَرِبَ قَائِمًا، وقالَ: إِنِّى رَأَيْتُ رَسولَ اللهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ فعلَ كما رَأَيْتُمُونى فَعَلْتُ. رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ .
Al-Nazzal ibn Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the gate of al-Rahbah and drank while standing, and said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do just as you have seen me do. Reported by al-Bukhari.

باب الرَّحْبَة: مكان في الكوفة، ومعنى الرحبة المكان المتسع.
"The gate of al-Rahbah": a place in Kufah; al-rahbah means a spacious, open place.

Part of complete instruction is to clarify a ruling both in word and in deed. The action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) constitutes legislation, unless evidence comes that he did not intend it as legislation.
