Riyad Al Salihin

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit some of his family, wiping with his right hand and saying: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction, heal, for You are the Healer; there is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

A clarification of some of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) supplication for healing (ruqyah). Healing is from Allah (the Mighty and Majestic), so it behooves the sick person to devote his supplication sincerely to Him, to attach his heart to Him, glorified is He, and then to take up the means of healing.
