عَنْ أَنسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّه قالَ لِثابِتٍ رَحِمَهُ اللّهُ: أَلا أَرْقِيكَ بِرُقْيَةِ رسولِ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ؟ قالَ: بَلى، قالَ: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، مُذْهِبَ البَأْسِ، اشْفِ أَنتَ الشَّافي، لا شَافِيَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، شِفاءً لا يُغادِرُ سَقَمًا. رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he said to Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him): "Shall I recite over you the ruqyah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: "Yes." He said: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, Remover of affliction, heal, for You are the Healer; there is no healer but You, a healing that leaves no illness behind." Reported by al-Bukhari.

ثابت: البناني تابعي جليل. ألا: أداة عرض واستفتاح. برقية: أي تعويذة، وهي ما يقرأ على من به مرض أو آفة.
"Thabit": al-Bunani, an eminent Successor. "Ala": a particle of offering and of opening speech. "Ruqyah": that is, an incantation, which is what is recited over one who has an illness or affliction.

The permissibility of ruqyah for all pains. The scholars are unanimous on its permissibility under two conditions: 1- That it be with the words of Allah the Exalted, or His names, or His attributes. 2- That it be in the Arabic language, or in another language whose meaning is known; and it is recommended that it be with the wordings that have come in the hadiths. The recommendation of wiping the sick person with the right hand and supplicating for him.
