عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بنِ سَمعانَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قال: سمِعتُ رسولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يقولُ: «يُؤْتَى يوْمَ القِيامةِ بالْقُرْآنِ وَأَهْلِهِ الَّذِينَ كانُوا يعْمَلُونَ بِهِ في الدُّنيَا تَقْدُمهُ سُورَةُ البقَرَةِ وآلِ عِمْرَانَ، تُحَاجَّانِ عَنْ صاحِبِهِمَا» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection the Qur'an will be brought, along with its people who used to act upon it in this world, preceded by Surah al-Baqarah and Al Imran, which will plead on behalf of their companion." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
تقدمه: أي تتقدمه. تحاجان: أي تجادلان. عن صاحبهما: أي التالي لسورة البقرة وآل عمران مع التدبر والعمل.
"Preceded by it (taqdumuhu)": that is, they go before it. "Will plead (tuhajjan)": that is, they will argue on his behalf. "On behalf of their companion": that is, the one who recites Surah al-Baqarah and Al Imran with reflection and action.
