عنْ أَبي أُمامَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قال: سمِعتُ رسولَ اللّهِ ِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يقولُ: «اقْرَؤُوا القُرْآنَ؛ فإِنَّهُ يَأْتي يَوْمَ القيامةِ شَفِيعًا لأصْحابِهِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Recite the Qur'an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
شفيعًا: أي شافعًا طالبًا المغفرة لأصحابه. لأصحابه: أي القارئين له والعاملين بأحكامه وهديه.
"An intercessor (shafi'an)": that is, one who intercedes, seeking forgiveness for its companions. "For its companions": that is, those who recite it and act by its rulings and guidance.
