Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Recite the Qur'an to me." I said: O Messenger of Allah, shall I recite it to you when it was revealed to you? He said: "I love to hear it from someone other than myself." So I recited to him Surah al-Nisa, until I came to this verse: "How then will it be when We bring forth from every nation a witness and We bring you as a witness against these?" [Surah al-Nisa: 41] He said: "Enough for now." I turned to him, and behold, his eyes were overflowing with tears. Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
