عَنْ أَبي سعِيدٍ الخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا سمِعَ رَجُلّا يَقْرَأُ: قَلُ هُوَ اللّهُ أَحَدٌ يُردِّدُها، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ جاءَ إِلى رسولِ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم، فَذَكَرَ ذٰلكَ لَهُ وَكَأَنَّ الرَّجُل يتَقَالُّهَا، فَقَالَ رسولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «والَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنَّها لَتَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ» رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man heard another man reciting "Say: He is Allah, [who is] One," repeating it. When morning came, he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned that to him, as though the man was regarding it as little. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, it equals a third of the Qur'an." Reported by al-Bukhari.
الشرح · explanation
أصبح: دخل في الصباح. يرددها: أي يعيد قراءتها ويكررها. يتقالّها: أي يعدها قليلة في العمل والثواب. الصّمد: هو الّذي تُقصد إليه حوائج الخلق.
"Came to the morning (asbaha)": he entered upon the morning. "Repeating it (yuraddiduha)": that is, he recites it again and repeats it. "Regarding it as little (yataqalluha)": that is, he counted it as little in deed and reward. "al-Samad": He to whom the needs of creation are directed.
