عَنْ أَبي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قال: «لا تَجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ مَقَابِرَ، إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْفِرُ مِن الْبيْتِ الَّذي تُقْرأُ فِيهِ سُورةُ الْبقَرةِ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not make your houses into graves; indeed, Satan flees from a house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر: أي لا تكن بيوتكم كالمقابر خالية من العمل والقراءة فتكونوا كالموتى في ذلك. ينفر: يُعرِض ويبتعد.
"Do not make your houses into graves": that is, let your houses not be like graves, devoid of action and recitation, so that you become like the dead in that respect. "flees": turns away and departs.
