عَنْ أَنسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّمَ قالَ: «رُصُّوا صُفُوفَكُمْ، وَقَارِبُوا بَيْنَها، وحَاذُوا بِالْأَعْناقِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بيَدِهِ إِنَّي لأَرَى الشَّيْطَانَ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ خَلَلِ الصَّفِّ كأنَّهَا الحَذَفُ» حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ بإِسْنادٍ على شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pack your rows tightly, bring them close together, and align your necks. For by the One in whose Hand is my soul, I see Satan entering through the gaps in the row like small black sheep." A sahih (authentic) hadith reported by Abu Dawud with a chain that meets the conditions of Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
حاذوا بالأعناق: أي ساووا بين المناكب. خلل الصف: فرجها وتباعدها عن بعضها. الْحَذَف: هِي غَنَمٌ سُودٌ صِغَارٌ تَكُونُ بِالْيَمَنِ.
"Align the necks": that is, make the shoulders level with one another. "The gaps of the row": its openings and the spacing apart of its parts. "The hadhaf": these are small black sheep found in Yemen.
