عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَإِذَا أَذَّنَ المُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلاةِ المَغْرِبِ ابْتَدَرُوا السَّوَارِيَ، فَرَكَعُوا رَكْعَتَيْنِ، حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الغَرِيبَ ليَدْخُلُ المَسْجِدَ فَيَحْسَبُ أَنَّ الصَّلاةَ قَدْ صُلِّيَتْ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يُصَلِّيهِمَا. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were in Medina, and when the muezzin gave the call for the Maghrib prayer, they would hasten to the pillars and pray two rak'ahs, so much so that a stranger entering the mosque would think that the prayer had already been performed, because of the great number of those praying them.
