حديث 1213·الباب 216 · باب تأكيد وجوب الزكاة وبيان فضلها وما يتعلّق بها·رياض الصالحين · Riyad Al Salihin

عَنْ جَريرِ بْنِ عَبدِ اللّهِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى إقَامِ الصَّلاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، والنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

Jarir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) upon establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, and offering sincere counsel to every Muslim. Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

بايعت: عاهدت والتزمت.

"I pledged allegiance": I made a covenant and committed myself.

الدروس · lessons

بيان أنّ الزكاة أحد أركان الإسلام. بذل النصيحة لجميع الناس. الدِّين يطلق على العمل لقول النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ: "الدِّين النصيحة". اقتصر في الحديث عن الصلاة والزكاة لاشتهارهما من أركان الإسلام.

A statement that zakat is one of the pillars of Islam. Offering sincere counsel to all people. The word "religion" (din) is applied to action, as in the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Religion is sincere counsel." The hadith limited mention to prayer and zakat because of their prominence among the pillars of Islam.
