عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، دُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ إِذَا عَمِلْتُهُ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ، قَالَ: «تَعْبُدُ اللّهَ لاَ تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا، وتُقِيمُ الصَّلاةَ، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ المَفْرُوضَةَ، وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ» قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لا أَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا، فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, direct me to a deed that, if I do it, will admit me to Paradise. He said: "You worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, establish the prayer, give the obligatory zakat, and fast Ramadan." He said: By the One in whose Hand is my soul, I will not add to this. When he turned away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever would be pleased to look at a man from the people of Paradise, let him look at this one." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

ولى: أدبر. إلى رجل من أهل الجنّة: هذه بشارة من النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ لهذا الأعرابي بالجنة.
"Turned away": departed. "At a man from the people of Paradise": this is glad tidings from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to this bedouin of Paradise.

أداء الزكاة من أسباب دخول الجنة. أنّ النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ كان يكتفي من الأعراب الحديثي العهد بالإسلام بفعل الواجبات لئلا يثقل عليهم ذلك فيملوا. أنّ المبشّر بالجنّة أكثر من العشرة كما ورد النص في الحسن والحسين وأمهما وجدتهما وأزواجهما، فتحمل بشارة العشرة على أنّهم بشروا دفعة واحدة، أو بلفظ بشّره بالجنة، أو أن العدد لا ينفي الزائد. توجيه للدعاة في نقل المدعوين إلى الإسلام بالتدرج حتى يتمكن الإسلام كليًا في نفوسهم، فيقبلوا على الاستزادة من أحكام الإسلام عن طواعية ورغبة.
Paying zakat is among the causes of entering Paradise. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be content, from the bedouins new to Islam, with the performance of the obligatory duties, lest it become too burdensome for them and they grow weary. Those given glad tidings of Paradise are more than the ten, as texts have come regarding al-Hasan and al-Husayn, their mother, their grandmother, and their wives. The glad tidings of the ten are understood to mean they were given the tidings all at once, or with the specific wording "gave him glad tidings of Paradise," or that specifying a number does not negate more than it. Guidance for callers to bring those they invite into Islam gradually, so that Islam becomes fully established in their souls, and they willingly and eagerly take on more of its rulings.
