عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: تَسَحَّرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاةِ. قِيلَ: كَمْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا؟ قَالَ: خَمْسُونَ آيَةً. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We took the pre-dawn meal with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then we rose for the prayer. It was said: "How long was there between the two?" He said: "The measure of fifty verses." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The recommendation of delaying the pre-dawn meal.
