عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤَذِّنَانِ: بِلاَلٌ، وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إنَّ بِلالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» قَالَ: وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إلَّا أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا وَيَرْقَى هَذَا. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had two callers to prayer (mu'adhdhins): Bilal and Ibn Umm Maktum. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bilal calls the adhan while it is still night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum makes the call." He said: There was no more between them than that one would come down and the other would go up. Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

يستحب أن يتخذ مؤذنان لصلاة الصبح يؤذن كل واحد منهما بأذان. استحباب الأذان الأول للصبح قبل دخول وقته ليُستعد للصلاة. المستحب تأخير الأكل وغيره ما لم يخش طلوع الفجر الصادق، لأنّه أقرب إلى التَّقَوِّي على العبادة.
It is recommended to appoint two callers to prayer for the dawn prayer, each of them making a separate call. The recommendation of the first call for the dawn prayer before its time enters, so that one may prepare for the prayer. It is recommended to delay eating and the like as long as one does not fear the breaking of the true dawn, for that is more conducive to gaining strength for worship.
