عَنْ عَبْدِ اللّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «صَوْمُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fasting three days of each month is equivalent to fasting the whole year." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).

التصريح بأنّ صيام ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر كصيام الدهر. رحمة الله عز وجل بعباده، وكرمه وسعة فضله أن أثاب بالأجر العظيم على العمل القليل. رحمة النّبيّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عليه وسلم ورأفته بأمّته أنّه لم يترك خيرًا ونفعًا إلّا بيّنه لهم وأرشدهم إليه وكان أسوتهم فيه.
A clear statement that fasting three days of each month is like fasting the entire year. The mercy of Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) toward His servants, His generosity, and the vastness of His bounty, in that He grants a great reward for a small deed. The mercy and compassion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) toward his ummah, in that he left no good or benefit without making it clear to them, guiding them to it, and being their example in it.
