عَنْ زَيدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لاَ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أجْرِ الصَّائِمِ شَيْءٌ». رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever provides a fasting person with something to break the fast shall have a reward like his, without that diminishing anything from the reward of the fasting person." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
من فطًر صائمًا: أي قدّم له شيئًا يفطر عليه ولو تمرة أو شربة ماء بهذا يحصل الأجر، وإذا زاد فاللّه أكثر كرمًا وأوسع فضلًا.
"Whoever provides a fasting person with something to break the fast": that is, he offers him something to break his fast with, even a date or a drink of water; by this the reward is attained, and if he offers more, then Allah is more generous still and vaster in bounty.
