عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لا يَلِجُ النَّارَ رَجُلٌ بَكَى مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّهِ حَتَّى يَعُودَ اللَّبَنُ فِي الضَّرْعِ، وَلا يَجْتَمِعُ عَلَى عَبْدٍ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ» رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man who weeps out of fear of Allah will not enter the Fire until the milk returns to the udder; and dust [gathered] in the path of Allah and the smoke of Hell will not combine upon a servant." Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.

لا يلج: لا يدخل. حتى يعود اللبن في الضرع: الضرع هو الغدد الثديية للدابة، وهي كناية عن الاستحالة، إذ من المستحيل أن يعود اللبن في الضرع أبدًا بعد خروجه منه.
"Will not enter (la yalij)": will not go in. "Until the milk returns to the udder": the udder is the mammary glands of the animal; this is a figure for impossibility, since it is impossible for milk ever to return to the udder after it has left it.

البشارة بالنجاة من النار، لمن اتصف بما ذكر الحديث وهذا لمن استقامت عقيدته وصحت نيته. بيان عظم أجر الجهاد بذكر أدنى الأذى فيه وهو غبار الحرب يصيب المجاهد فيكون نجاة له من نار جهنم فكيف بمن خرج مجاهدًا في سبيل اللّهِ بنفسه وماله ولم يرجع من ذلك بشيء.
Glad tidings of deliverance from the Fire for whoever is characterized by what the hadith mentions — this being for one whose creed is sound and whose intention is sincere. A declaration of the immensity of the reward of jihad through mentioning the least of its hardships — the dust of battle that settles on the fighter, which becomes a means of his deliverance from the Fire of Hell; so how much more for one who goes out to fight in the path of Allah with his life and his wealth and returns with nothing of it.
