عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَا أَحَدٌ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا وَلَهُ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إلَّا الشَّهِيدُ، يَتَمَنَّى أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا، فَيُقْتَلَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ، لِمَا يَرَى مِنَ الْكَرَامَةِ». وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one who enters Paradise would [ever] wish to return to the world, even were he to possess everything on earth, except the martyr: he will long to return to the world and be killed ten times over, for what he sees of the honor [conferred upon him]." In another narration: "for what he sees of the merit of martyrdom." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
لِما يرى مِنَ الكرامةِ: ممَّا له مِن النَّعيمِ والحَظِّ الَّذي فضَّله اللّهُ به على غَيرِه في الآخرةِ.
"For what he sees of the honor (li-ma yara min al-karamah)": because of the bliss and favor with which Allah has preferred him over others in the Hereafter.
