عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَهُوَ لَهُ عِدْلُ مُحَرَّرَةٍ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُودَ، والتِّرْمِذِيُّ وقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Amr ibn Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah, it is equal for him to freeing a slave." Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said: a hasan sahih hadith.
الشرح · explanation
من رمى بسَهمٍ في سَبيلِ اللّهِ: مَن رمَى بسَهمٍ مِن قَوسِه وأَوصلَه إلى كافِرٍ وأصابَه به. عدل محررة: أي مثل ثواب رقبة معتقة في سبيل اللّهِ.
"Whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah": whoever shoots an arrow from his bow and it reaches a disbeliever and strikes him. "equal to freeing a slave" (idl muharrarah): that is, like the reward of a slave freed in the path of Allah.
