عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ يَكُونُ مِنْ آخِرِ مَا يَقُولُ بَيْنَ التَّشَهُّدِ وَالتَّسْلِيمِ: «اللهمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرفْتُ، وَمَا أَنتَ أَعْلمُ بِهِ مِنِّي، أَنْتَ المُقَدِّمُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلّا أنْتَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for prayer, among the last things he would say between the tashahhud and the salam was: "O Allah, forgive me what I have sent ahead and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have made public, what I have done to excess, and what You know better than I. You are the One who brings forward and You are the One who puts back. There is no god but You." Reported by Muslim.

أسررت: أخفيت. أعلنت: أظهرت. أسرفت: أكثرت.
"I have concealed (asrartu)": I hid. "I have made public (a'lantu)": I disclosed. "I have done to excess (asraftu)": I did too much.

استحباب هذا الذكر بعد التشهد. بيان كمال خضوعه صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم لربه، وقيامه بحق مقام العبودية. الحثّ على الاستغفار واستشعار الخضوع لمقام الربوبية.
It is recommended to say this remembrance after the tashahhud. An account of the perfection of his submission (peace and blessings be upon him) to his Lord, and his fulfilling the due of the station of servitude. Encouragement to seek forgiveness and to feel humble submission before the station of Lordship.
