عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا أَتَى أَهْلَه قَالَ: بِاسْمِ اللّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا: فَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَدٌ لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any one of you, when he comes to his wife, were to say: In the name of Allah; O Allah, keep the devil away from us and keep the devil away from what You provide us—then, if a child is decreed between them, the devil will not harm it." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
جنبنا الشيطان: أبعده عنا. فقضي: فقدر.
"Keep the devil away from us": remove him far from us. "Is decreed": is ordained.

استحباب أن يقول الإنسان هذا الذكر قبل الشروع في الجماع، أما في حين الجماع فإنه يكره الكلام. حفظ المولود من مس الشيطان وأذاه ببركة هذا الذكر فيما إذا حملت المرأة من ذلك الجماع.
The desirability of a person saying this remembrance before beginning intercourse; as for during intercourse itself, speech is disliked. The protection of the child from the touch and harm of the devil through the blessing of this remembrance, in the event that the woman conceives from that intercourse.
