عن أبي هريرة وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لا يَقْعُدُ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلّا حَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ، وَغَشِيَتْهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ، وَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْسَّكِينَةُ، وَذَكَرَهُمُ اللهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah and Abu Said (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No people sit remembering Allah (the Mighty and Majestic) but that the angels envelop them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them among those who are with Him." Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
حفتهم: أحاطت بهم. غشيتهم الرحمة: نزلت عليهم آثارها من الفضل الإلهي. السكينة: خلق من مخلوقات اللّه العظيمة تنزل مع الملائكة لتستمع للذكر.
"Envelop them": encircle them. "Mercy covers them": its effects, from the divine grace, descend upon them. "Tranquility": a magnificent creation among Allah's creations that descends together with the angels to listen to the remembrance.
