عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي دُعَائِهِ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say in his supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done." Reported by Muslim.

الاستعاذة باللّه من شرّ ما وقع من الذنوب ومن شرّ ما يمكن أن يقع لأنّ في ذلك صدق العبودية للّه وترك العجب والتكبر.
Seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of the sins that have occurred and from the evil of what may possibly occur, for in that lies sincere servitude to Allah and the abandonment of conceit and arrogance.
