عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «لا تَدْعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ، وَلا تدْعُوا عَلَى أَوْلادِكُمْ، وَلا تَدْعُوا عَلَى أَمْوَالِكُمْ، لا تُوافِقُوا مِنَ اللّهِ سَاعَةً يُسْأَلُ فِيهَا عَطَاءً فَيَسْتَجِيبَ لَكُمْ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not invoke curses upon yourselves, nor upon your children, nor upon your wealth, lest you happen upon an hour from Allah in which a gift is granted and He answers you." الشرح · explanation
ساعة يُسأَلُ فِيهَا عَطاءً: لئلَّا تُصادِفوا ساعةَ إِجابةٍ ونيلٍ فتُستجابَ دَعوتُكمُ بالسُّوءِ.
"An hour in which a gift is granted": lest you coincide with an hour of answering and attainment, so that your supplication for evil is granted.

النهيُ عن الدعاء على النفس أو الأولاد أو المال بشيء من الضرر، لئلا يصادف هذا الدعاء القبول. أنّ للأزمنة خواصَّ يتقبل اللّه فيها الدعاء، فليتخير المؤمن الساعات المباركة بالدعاء، وليكن دعاء خير ورحمة وعافية، لا دعاء عذاب وهلاك.
The prohibition of supplicating against oneself, one's children, or one's wealth with anything harmful, lest such a supplication coincide with the hour of acceptance. That times have special qualities in which Allah accepts supplication, so let the believer choose the blessed hours for supplication, and let it be a supplication of good, mercy, and well-being, not a supplication of punishment and ruin.
