عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ، فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so make abundant supplication." Reported by Muslim.

The merit of supplication in the state of prostration. That the servant is closest to his Lord while prostrating, so one should supplicate abundantly during prostration.
