عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ يَضْمَنْ لِي مَا بَيْنَ لَحْيَيْهِ وَمَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ أَضْمَنْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
Sahl ibn Sa'd reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever guarantees for me what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will guarantee for him Paradise." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
يضمن: أي يلتزم بالحفظ. ما بين لحييه: اللحيان هما العظمان اللذان تنبت عليهما الأسنان علوًا وسفلًا، وما بين لحييه هو اللسان. ما بين رجليه: كناية عن الفرج، فلا يزني، ولا يأتي حرامًا.
"Guarantees (yadman)": that is, commits to guarding it. "What is between his jaws": the two jaws are the two bones upon which the teeth grow, above and below; and what is between his jaws is the tongue. "What is between his legs": a metaphor for the private parts — that he not commit fornication nor engage in what is forbidden.
