عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لا يَرْمِي رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا بِالْفِسْقِ أَوِ الْكُفْرِ إِلّا ارْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ صَاحِبُهُ كَذَلِكَ» رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "No man accuses another of iniquity (fisq) or disbelief (kufr) but that it rebounds upon him, if his companion is not as he said." Reported by al-Bukhari.

قال العلماء: فيه تفسيق من رمى غير الفاسق بالفسق، أي خروجه عن الطاعة، ويحتمل صيرورته فاسقًا بذلك إن أصرّ عليه. تكفير من رمى المؤمن بالكفر، أي إن قصد به ظاهره واستحل ذلك.
The scholars said: In it is the declaring of the one who accuses a non-transgressor of transgression to be himself a transgressor (fasiq), that is, in his departing from obedience; and it is possible that he actually becomes a transgressor by it if he persists. The declaring as a disbeliever of the one who accuses a believer of disbelief, that is, if he intends its apparent meaning and deems that lawful.
