عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «بِحَسْبِ امْرِئٍ مِنَ الشَّرِّ أَنْ يَحْقِرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ» رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ، وَقَدْ سَبَقَ قَرِيبًا بِطُولِهِ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is enough evil for a person that he should despise his Muslim brother." Reported by Muslim, and it has already been mentioned in full close by.
الشرح · explanation
يحْقِرَ أخَاهُ المُسْلِمَ: يَستصِغرُ شأنَه ويَضعُ مِن قَدْرِه؛ فَالاحتقارُ نَاشئٌ عَنِ الكبْرِ.
"despises his Muslim brother": he belittles his standing and diminishes his worth, for contempt arises from arrogance.
