عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لا تَقَاطَعُوا، ولا تَدابروا، ولا تباغضُوا، ولا تحاسدُوا، وكُونُوا عِبادَ اللَّهِ إخْوانًا، ولا يحِلُّ لمُسْلِمٍ أنْ يهْجُرَ أخَاهُ فَوقَ ثَلاثٍ» متفقٌ عليه.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not sever ties with one another, do not turn your backs on one another, do not hate one another, and do not envy one another; and be, O servants of Allah, brothers. It is not lawful for a Muslim to shun his brother for more than three (days)." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
لا تقاطعوا: أي لا تتقاطعوا، والمعنى لا يهجر ويعتزل بعضكم بعضًا. ولا تدابروا: لا يدير بعضكم عن بعض إعراضًا عنه وهجرانًا له. وكونوا عباد اللّه إخوانًا: أي متواصلين متراحمين، لأنّ ذلك مقتضى الأخوة.
"Do not sever ties": that is, do not cut one another off; the meaning is that none of you should shun and withdraw from another. "do not turn your backs on one another": none of you should turn his back on another, avoiding and shunning him. "and be, O servants of Allah, brothers": that is, maintaining ties and being merciful to one another, for that is what brotherhood requires.
