عَنْ أبي طَلْحَةَ رضي اللّه عَنْهُ أنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَال: «لا تَدْخُلُ المَلائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلا صُورَةٌ» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
الملائكة: أي ملائكة الرحمة لا مطلق الملائكة، لأنّ الحفظة لا يفارقون بسبب ذلك. بيتًا: وكل مكان.
"The angels": that is, the angels of mercy, not angels in the absolute sense, because the recording angels do not depart on account of that. "A house": and likewise every place.

Keeping images is among the foul matters that the angels shun, and their presence in a place is a cause for the deprivation of mercy; and the dog is likewise.
