Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats from this tree" - meaning garlic - "let him not come near our mosque." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim). In another narration by Muslim: "our mosques."

Forbidding one who has eaten garlic from coming to the mosque, because of the harm it causes to the worshippers and the angels. This prohibition against approaching the mosques for one who has eaten garlic is not a concession (rukhsah) but rather a penalty.
