عَنْ جَابِرٍ رضِي اللّه عَنْهُ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم أَنْ يُجَصَّصَ الْقَبْرُ، وَأَنْ يُقْعَدَ عَلَيهِ، وأَنْ يُبْنَى عَلَيْهِ. رواه مسلم.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a grave be plastered, that it be sat upon, or that anything be built over it. Reported by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
يجصص: يبيض بالجص، وهو ما يسمى بالجبصين لدى العامة. يبنى عليه: أن يجعل عليه قبة ونحوها.
"Plastered (yujassas)": whitened with gypsum plaster, which common people call jibsin. "Built over": that a dome or the like be placed over it.
