عَن أمِّ سَلَمَةَ رضي اللّه عنها أنَّ رَسُولَ اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ في آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ إنَّمَا يُجَرْجِرُ في بَطْنِهِ نَار جَهَنَّمَ» متفقٌ عليه. وفي روايةٍ لمُسْلمٍ: «إنَّ الَّذِي يَأكُلُ أوْ يَشْربُ في آنيةِ الْفِضَّةِ وَالذَّهَب»
Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who drinks from vessels of silver is only pouring the fire of Hell into his belly." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim). In a narration of Muslim: "Indeed, the one who eats or drinks from vessels of silver and gold."
الشرح · explanation
يجرجر: أي جرعه جرعًا متتابعًا يسمع له صوت، والجرجرة كناية عن ذلك الصوت، والمراد يلقي النار في بطنه.
"Pours" (yujarjir): that is, he gulps it down in successive swallows that make a sound; jarjarah is an expression for that sound. What is meant is that he casts the fire into his belly.
