Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No one asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the Dajjal more than I asked him, and he said to me: "What harm can he do you?" I said: They say that with him will be a mountain of bread and a river of water. He said: "He is more insignificant before Allah than that." Agreed upon (al-Bukhari and Muslim).
"He is more insignificant before Allah than that": it is said that the meaning is that the Dajjal is too contemptible for Allah to make that wealth which is with him a sign proving his truthfulness, especially since Allah has made the sign of his falsehood evident in his deficiency and the ugliness of his appearance.

The scholars said: If you ask how Allah brings about dazzling signs at his hands, such as reviving the dead, which is among the great signs that belong only to the prophets, the answer is: it is by way of trial for the servants, since they have with them what indicates that he is a falsifier whose claim is not established, namely that he is one-eyed and has written upon his forehead that he is a disbeliever. So his claim is refuted, along with the mark of disbelief and the deficiency of his person; for were he a god, he would have removed that deficiency from his face. Thus, when he calls the people to accept that he is their lord, the worst state of anyone of sound mind who sees him is that he knows he could not create anyone else, nor ward off deficiency from himself.
