عَنْ أبي هُريْرةَ رضي اللّه عنْهُ أنَّ رسُول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «يُصَلُّونَ لَكُمْ، فَإنْ أصَابُوا فَلَكُمْ، وإنْ أخْطؤُوا فَلَكُمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ» رواهُ البُخاريّ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They lead you in prayer; if they are correct, then it is for you, and if they err, then it is for you and against them." Reported by al-Bukhari.
الشرح · explanation
يصلّون لكم: أي الأئمة. فلكم: أي الأجر ولهم أيضًا. فلكم وعليهم: أي إن أخطؤوا فلكم الأجر وعليهم الوزر.
"They lead you in prayer": that is, the imams. "Then it is for you": that is, the reward, and for them as well. "For you and against them": that is, if they err, the reward is yours and the sin is upon them.

أنّ من أشراط الساعة تولي الأئمة الجهال إمامة المسلمين في الصلاة وقيادتهم في الحياة، فما أصابوا به من أداء العبادة فلهم الأجر ولمن ائتم بهم، وإن اخطؤوا كان عليهم وحدهم إثم ما ارتكبوا من أخطاء.
That among the signs of the Hour is that ignorant leaders will assume the leadership of the Muslims in prayer and their guidance in life. Whatever act of worship they perform correctly earns the reward for them and for those who follow them, and if they err, the sin of the errors they commit is upon them alone.
