عن أبي هريرة رضي اللّه عنه قال: قال رسولُ اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «يا نِسَاء المُسْلِماتِ لا تَحْقِرَنَّ جارَةٌ لِجارتِهَا ولَوْ فِرْسِنَ شاةٍ» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O Muslim women, let no neighbor belittle a gift to her neighbor, even if it is a sheep's trotter." Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
فِرسِن: هو من البَعير كالحافر في الفَرس، عَظم قليل اللَّحم. لا تَحقِرنَّ: أي لا تَمتنِع من الصدقة وإن كان شيئًا يسيرًا، فهو خير من لا شيء.
"Trotter" (firsin) is the foot of a camel, analogous to the hoof of a horse — a bone with little meat on it. "Let no one belittle" means one should not refrain from giving charity even if it is something small, for it is better than nothing.

الحثّ على الإهداء والصدقة بما تيسّر مهما كان قليلًا، فإنّه خير، ينبغي أن يُحمد فاعله ويُشكر. الهدية وإن كانت قليلة في نظر صاحبها لكنها كبيرة الأجر عند اللّه تعالى وكبيرة النفع عند آخذها. النهي عن الاحتِقار؛ فلا تحتقر المُعطِية هديتها لجارتها، ولا تحتقر المُهدَى إليها الهدية حتى وإن كانت بسيطة.
Encouragement to give gifts and charity with whatever is available, no matter how little, for it is good, and the one who does it should be praised and thanked. A gift, even if it seems small in the eyes of the giver, carries great reward with Allah, the Most High, and great benefit for the recipient. The prohibition of contempt: the giver should not belittle her gift to her neighbor, and the recipient should not belittle the gift, even if it is modest.
