عن أَبِي موسى الأشعريِّ رضي اللّه عنه قال: قال رسول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «منْ صلَّى الْبَرْدَيْنِ دَخَلَ الْجنَّةَ» متفقٌ عليه.
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever prays the two cool prayers will enter Paradise." Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
الشرح · explanation
صلَّى البَردَين: أي صلاتي الصبح والعصر، وسُمِّيَتا بذلك لأنّهما تُصليان في بَردَي النهار وهما طرفاه، حين يطيب الهواء وتذهب شدة الحر.
"The two cool prayers" (al-bardayn) refers to the Fajr (dawn) and Asr (afternoon) prayers. They are called this because they are performed during the two cool parts of the day — its two extremes — when the air is pleasant and the heat has subsided.

The intent of this hadith is to emphasize the importance of these two obligatory prayers, not to suggest that entering Paradise is achieved solely by performing them to the exclusion of others.
