عنْ أَنَسٍ رضي اللّه عنه قال: قال رسول اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: «إِنَّ اللّه لَيرْضَى عَنِ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الأَكْلَةَ فيحْمدَهُ عليْهَا، أَوْ يشْربَ الشَّرْبَةَ فيحْمدَهُ عليْهَا» رواه مسلم.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah is pleased with a servant who eats a morsel of food and praises Him for it, or drinks a sip and praises Him for it." Narrated by Muslim.
الشرح · explanation
يرضى: الرضى صفة كمال ثابتة للّه تعالى، ومن آثارها أنّ اللّه تعالى يقبل طاعة العبد ويثيبه عليها.
"Is pleased" — being pleased is an attribute of perfection affirmed for Allah, the Most High. Among its effects is that Allah, the Most High, accepts the servant's obedience and rewards him for it.

الحثّ على شكر اللّه عزّ وجلّ على سعة فضله وكثير نعمه. الحمد للّه، لأنّه سبحانه وحده الذي يستحق الحمد على النعمة. أنّ رضا اللّه عزّ وجلّ يُنال بأدنى سبب. المباحات إذا اقترنت بالنيّات الصالحة كانت لصاحبها طاعات ينال لذّتها في الدنيا وثوابها في الآخرة.
Encouragement to be grateful to Allah, the Almighty, for the vastness of His bounty and the abundance of His blessings. All praise is due to Allah, for He alone, Glorified be He, deserves to be praised for every blessing. The pleasure of Allah, the Almighty, can be attained through the simplest of means. Permissible acts, when accompanied by righteous intentions, become acts of obedience for their doer — he enjoys their pleasure in this world and their reward in the Hereafter.
