عنْ عابسِ بن ربيعةَ قال: رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بنَ الخطاب، رضي اللّه عنه، يُقَبِّلُ الْحَجَرَ -يَعْنِي الأَسْوَدَ- ويَقُولُ: إِني أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ مَا تَنْفَعُ ولا تَضُرُّ، ولَوْلا أنِّي رأَيْتُ رسولَ اللّه صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم يُقَبِّلُكَ ما قَبَّلْتُكَ. متفقٌ عليه.
On the authority of Abis ibn Rabi'ah, who said: I saw Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) kissing the Black Stone and saying: 'I know that you are a stone that neither benefits nor harms. Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.' Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

استحباب تقبيل الحجر الأسود في الطواف بعد استلامه. الحثّ على متابعة الرسول صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم فيما شرّعه لأمّته ولو لم يظهر لهم وجه الحكمة منه.
It is recommended to kiss the Black Stone during tawaf after touching it. The exhortation to follow the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in what he legislated for his nation, even when the wisdom behind it is not apparent to them.
