عَنْ أبي هريرة رضي اللّهُ عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللّهِ صَلّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ: «يَضْحكُ اللّهُ سبحانه وتعالى إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ يقْتُلُ أحدُهُمَا الآخَرَ يدْخُلانِ الجَنَّةَ، يُقَاتِلُ هَذَا في سبيلِ اللّهِ فيُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللّهُ عَلَى الْقَاتِلِ فَيُسْلِمُ فيُسْتَشْهَدُ» مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah laughs at two men, one of whom kills the other, yet both enter Paradise. One fights in the cause of Allah and is killed, then Allah accepts the repentance of the killer, who embraces Islam and is subsequently martyred." Agreed upon (narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

يضحك : الضحك صفة من صفات اللّه عزّ وجلّ نُثْبِتها كما يليق بجلاله {ليس كمثله شيء}.
"Laughs" (yadhak): Laughter is an attribute of Allah the Almighty that we affirm as befitting His majesty -- 'there is nothing like unto Him.'

كلّ من قُتل في سبيل اللّه فهو في الجنّة. لا يَلْزم من تساوي الرجلين في دخول الجنّة تساويهما في المنزلة. التوبة من أفضل نِعَم اللّه تعالى على العباد. وجوب التوبة من الذنب مهما كبر، وعدم اليأس من رحمة اللّه تعالى. الإسلام يَمْحو ما قَبْله من الكُفر، والتوبة تمحو ما قبلها من الآثام.
Everyone who is killed in the cause of Allah is in Paradise. The fact that two men are equal in entering Paradise does not mean they are equal in rank. Repentance is among the greatest blessings of Allah the Most High upon His servants. Repentance from sin is obligatory no matter how great the sin, and one should never despair of Allah's mercy. Islam erases what came before it of disbelief, and repentance erases what came before it of sins.
